PSSI Secures Key Players for Men’s and Women’s Football Teams

Jakarta, TEMPO.CO – The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has officially announced that the House of Representatives (DPR), through Commissions XIII and X, has granted approval for the naturalization of five Dutch-born football players. The move is set to strengthen Indonesia's national football teams for both men’s and women’s competitions.

The approval was confirmed on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, and will pave the way for Mauro Zijlstra, Miliano Jonathans, Isabel Corian Kopp, Isabelle Nottet, and Pauline Jeanette van de Pol to represent Indonesia in regional and international football competitions.

PSSI’s Commitment to Global Football Success

Erick Thohir, Chairperson of PSSI, expressed the association’s dedication to enhancing Indonesia’s football presence globally. In a social media post, he shared, “We at PSSI continue to uphold our commitment by working hard to realize our big dream: Garuda going global.” He also extended his gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and DPR leaders for their support in making this naturalization process a reality.

With this naturalization, the five athletes are set to strengthen both the youth and senior levels of Indonesia’s football teams, competing in Southeast Asia, Asia, and beyond.
