El Shaarawy Calls for Harder Work After Preseason Loss
El Shaarawy acknowledged the team’s struggle against Aston Villa, stating, "We know we have to work harder; they had a higher pace." The Italian forward recognized the importance of maintaining focus, even after a loss, and expressed his determination to help the team get into the best physical condition ahead of the start of the season on August 23rd.
"We’re trying to do what Gasperini asks of us as best we can. Maybe we’re a little lacking in physical form right now, but we have to work," El Shaarawy added. While aware of the loss, he believes it's crucial to focus on improving overall performance rather than dwelling on the result.
The Pride of Wearing the Captain's Armband
El Shaarawy, who captained Roma for the match, expressed pride in wearing the armband but made it clear that his commitment to the team remained unchanged.
